What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Analyst position at The Moody Bible Institute?
Under the Manager of Systems Analysis, the Systems Analyst participates in the technical planning, engineering and support of enterprise-level software solutions and services. This position assesses and proposes new solutions as well as modifications to existing processes/systems in order to ensure an efficient and well-integrated architecture. The Systems Analyst works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Essential Functions

- Gather, analyze, and document technical requirements and standards for use in the selection, integration, and support of enterprise systems.
- Coordinate feasibility studies for solutions under consideration for purchase and provide findings and recommendations.
- Provide strategic technical recommendations (including outside-in perspectives) to ITS leadership for continuous improvement of Moody’s enterprise technology.
- Oversee integrations (and their maintenance) of multiple on-premise and cloud-based enterprise systems.
- Provide technical support to internal ITS teams on issues affecting enterprise systems.
- Provide on-going maintenance for existing on-premises enterprise systems.
- Assist in the migration of on-premise enterprise systems to cloud-based services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving user experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree. Additional job-related experience and/or education may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Strong teamwork, communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with superior attention to detail.
- Over three years of progressive information technology experience directly related to systems architecture/administration/development, information security, or other specialized technology field.
- Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship.
Preferred Requirements
- Web Development or shell scripting experience on Linux or Windows platforms
- Experience installing or maintaining enterprise systems, including databases, application/web servers, etc.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, etc.
- Experience with Data Analysis or Data warehousing.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday. This role can either be worked remotely or a hybrid from both the Chicago campus and from home.
