Job Summary: The Community Empowerment Coordinator is responsible for leading TMWG's initiatives aimed at financial stability and empowerment for historically underserved communities. This position focuses on delivering financial coaching and literacy services, job readiness, and economic self-sufficiency programs.
The Coordinator will work closely with community partners and other system partners to ensure that participants have equitable access to stabilization, housing programs, and financial resources.
The Coordinator will oversee the Guardians of Hope initiative, promoting financial literacy and wealth-building for communities, and will ensure the successful execution of TMWG’s financial stability services.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Financial Coaching:
- Grant Alignment: Ensure that all program activities align with the objectives of the PacMtn grant, delivering financial literacy and empowerment services to participants in the targeted regions.
- Service Delivery: Lead the delivery of financial coaching and multi-session financial literacy courses across five counties (Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Grays Harbor, and Pacific).
- Guardians of Hope Initiative: Coordinate and manage the Guardians of Hope initiative, providing financial literacy training and community resource navigation for participants, with a focus on economic empowerment and wealth-building.
Strategic Partnerships:
- Collaboration: Partner with Pacific Mountain Workforce and other system partners to ensure participants are co-enrolled in services that support job readiness, housing stability, and financial coaching.
- Employer Engagement: Work with community partners and local employers to connect participants to job opportunities, fostering pathways to long-term employment and financial stability.
Outreach and Community Engagement:
- Focus: Serve as a liaison to historically underserved communities, ensuring culturally responsive outreach strategies and equitable access to TMWG programs.
- Event Leadership: Lead the creation of cultural events, recognition activities, and community distributions that celebrate history and contributions of historically underserved communities, fostering community engagement and trust.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Performance Metrics: Track and report on grant performance metrics, including enrollment numbers, course completion rates, and participant outcomes as required by the grant.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with grant reporting requirements, including monthly and quarterly reports, and ensure data is accurately documented to reflect program impact and financial coaching outcomes.
Sustainability and Long-term Planning:
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of a comprehensive five-year strategic plan for the financial stability and empowerment services offered by TMWG, ensuring long-term sustainability beyond the grant period.
- Follow-Up Services: Provide ongoing support to program participants through case management, financial coaching, and access to additional TMWG resources following the completion of literacy courses.
Qualifications:
- Experience or Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Financial Planning, or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience working with historically underserved communities
- Proven track record in managing outreach and financial literacy programs.
- Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) framework and financial coaching principles.
- Strong organizational and data management skills, with experience in grant compliance and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and community members.
