To manage administrative and functional areas or programs within the Nursing Services Department, and to assist the Director of Nursing in overall operation of the Department in accordance with facility policies, and Standards of nursing practices and government regulations, so as to maintain excellent care of all the Resident’s needs.
Essential job Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Director of Nursing:
Work with or support Director of Nursing, Administrator and Consultants in planning all aspects of nursing service to include interacting with other disciplines and departments. May assist Director of Nursing in monitoring day to day operation of the nursing department, and to establish priorities and manage records, budgets or supplies. Assists or supports the Director of Nursing in managing nursing care to include monitoring quality of care and resident activity, assessment of resident’s status, administer medication and treatments, admissions or discharges; and to consult with family members and other Health Care professionals.
Stand In:
Fills in as acting Director of Nursing, charge nurse or other nursing positions as needed with limited or
full authority as appropriate
Manage Compliance:
Supports and assists the Director of Nursing to ensure compliance with State, Federal and Company QA standard, to include alerting management of potential non-compliance issues and preparation of correction plans and other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Good standing and currently licensed by the state. Must be CPR Certified.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates. Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. Ability to convey, explain, or interpret complex specialized information related to long term care rules and regulations. Hence strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to complete continuing education hours as required by the State.
