Job Title: Tribal Project Director
Classification: Full-Time
General Job Description: The Tribal Project Director position is a full-time position (1 FTE) in The Munsee Tribe in Kansas Administration for Native Americans (“ANA”) Project Office (“Project Office”). This position is funded by an ANA Social & Economic Development Strategies (“SEDS”) Grant that will last for 3 years. S/he will be responsible for the Administration of the ANA SEDS Grant. Grant administration includes monitoring and evaluation, compilation of quarterly reports, and financial reporting. The Tribal Project Director will organize activities necessary for the successful completion of the grant’s objectives and be the main liaison between Tribal Government and the Tribal Community to report project progress. The Tribal Project Director will oversee project staff and consultants, will organize and attend trainings to develop project staff, and be a resource.
Duties & Responsibilities: The Project Director shall direct and oversee all the work for the Project Office, including all employees and volunteers; report to the General Committee of the Tribe and the AOR; travel for in-person research and ANA training; verify that the Project remains in regulatory compliance; set schedules to meet deadlines for Project completion; design community engagement plans and delegate to appropriate Project Staff and Volunteers; divide and assign duties for various aspects of the Project, serving as a point of contact for multiple people assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy; develop objectives and goals for metrics reporting requirements; responsible for adherence to budget restrictions; organize and attend all training associated with the project; monitor and evaluate key project activities, goals, and milestones; perform all grant reporting to include financial and programmatic reports, quarterly reports, budget modifications, carry over budget requests (if needed) and required noncompetitive continuation applications; maintain appropriate administrative policies to report grant expenses; and work with Project Partners, Project Consultants, AOR and Project Staff in implementing the Project and developing and administering Volunteer Training.
Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional experience, or any combination of experience, education, or training that would support the required knowledge and abilities are also qualifying. Must have strong attention to detail, with ability to note slightest details. Dedication to see projects through to completion is a must. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Experience and proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must.

Experience/Competencies: Prior experience in any related leadership or management role is required, although direct Project Management experience may not be required. Grant Reporting. Proficient in Quick Books or Accounting Software.
