Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the historic St. James Hotel, ensuring the property remains functional, safe, and true to its legacy.

• Manage day-to-day operations, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.

• Lead and train a maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maintain the integrity of the building and systems.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes while respecting the historical significance of the property.

• Work closely with hotel management to coordinate renovations, improvements, and emergency repairs.

• Assist with seasonal preparations, such as winterizing or upgrading equipment as needed.

• Be available for on-call duties to address urgent maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field (hospitality experience preferred).

• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.

• Experience working with historic properties is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and outside contractors.

• Willingness to live on-site and be available for emergencies when necessary.
