JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company's needs for indirect materials and services. In addition, this position coordinates item specifications with departments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assisting supervisor to ensure bidding procedures are followed in compliance with procurement goals.
  • Communicating with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Ensuring quality and quantity of received goods compared to purchase order and takes action, if necessary.
  • Communicating regularly with supervisor, and internal customers.
  • Focusing on continuous improvement of quality assets and services.
  • Managing and maintaining product sourcing and bid searching.
  • Assisting in cost control and savings program.
  • Ensuring that all products are transferred correctly, and documentation is maintained using departmental software system.
  • Participating in continuing product and systems trainings.
  • Communicating all pertinent information to supervisor and the internal customers.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensures the financial delivery of the agreed upon savings goals to be established for each functional area within procurement.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matter

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be 21 years of age with a high school or GED AND three (3) years buying, expediting, and other directly related purchasing and hospitality experience required.
  • Associate's degree in related field, preferred
  • Must pass all required pre-screening drug and background checks.
  • Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage preferred
  • Skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications, bids, and proposals.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and timelines simultaneously, work effectively in a fast paced, pressure-filled environment and be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

  • Must be able to access and interpret information on computer screens.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted, and it can be loud guest chatter, overhead music, and live entertainment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye hand coordination.
