The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an Interior Maintenance Technician. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Interior Maintenance Technician performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of the Museum's buildings, facilities, and equipment. This position works with other Facilities staff to ensure that the Museum's spaces are clean and safe for visitors, employees and guests.

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an Interior Maintenance Technician. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Interior Maintenance Technician performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of the Museum's buildings, facilities, and equipment. This position works with other Facilities staff to ensure that the Museum's spaces are clean and safe for visitors, employees and guests.
Requirements
- Perform general maintenance and repair of the Museum's buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Perform a variety of maintenance work· including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry, and painting tasks.
- Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets.
- Perform minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets· repairs door hinges; cleans plugged key slots.
- Change filters on heating, ventilating and air conditioning u Reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action.
- Move and assist in moving furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites.
- Exercise discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person.
- Assist in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed.
- Annotate and update work logs for specific site requirements.
- Activate and deactivate building alarms and responds to alarm calls during and after regular work hours.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.
- Knowledge of the method used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, painting, masonry, grounds keeping, appliance repair, and electrical wiring.
- Knowledge of standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
- Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Must possess a valid Louisiana driver's license.
- Operate a forklift.
- Follow oral and/or written instructions.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
