Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Security & Commercial AV Systems Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and commercial AV systems. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and at or above quality standards.
As a key member of our team, you will assist Project Managers with daily planning, material management, system installations, troubleshooting, customer communication, progress reporting, quality control inspections, and system testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Systems Installation & Troubleshooting:
- Install and maintain structured cabling, security equipment, card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes, and integrated security systems.
- Troubleshoot cabling, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, PLCs, and related equipment.
- Maintain expertise in low-voltage systems, relays, normally closed/normally open circuits, and wiring configurations.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and lifts as required for installations.
Commercial AV Systems Installation & Troubleshooting:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot 70 Volt & 8 Ohm audio systems, networked AV systems, and AV automation.
- Work with Kramer & Atlona control systems, video conferencing/teleconferencing, DSPs, echo cancellation, and voice lift systems.
- Set up and maintain video walls, digital signage, and live-streaming systems.
- Experience with Control4, Crestron, Biamp, BSS, Soundcraft, and security system integration.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safety-first approach to all activities.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Provide clear documentation and progress reports to Project Managers and customers.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams and clients.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency with the following systems-Software House, Genetec, Honeywell, HID, Mercury, LifeSafety Power, Genetec, ipConfigure, Axis, Verkada, DMP, Honeywell Vista, Panduit, Commscope
- 70 Volt & 8 Ohm Audio, Networked AV, Kramer & Atlona Control Systems
- Video Conferencing, DSPs, Echo Cancellation, Voice Lift
- Video Walls, Digital Signage, Live-Streaming
- Strong mechanical and computer skills, with the ability to take on new challenges.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including:
- Standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods.
- Working in high places, small cramped spaces, and extreme temperature conditions.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Must have or be able to immediately obtain a Security License.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
