Process Engineer Intern- Electrical

Summary: Assist with maintenance and reliability efforts at the New-Indy Ontario recycled containerboard mill including project management, specification research, failure analysis and documentation. Flexible schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide professional electrical engineering support, leadership, and services in the analysis, planning, and control of the manufacturing process.
• Perform day-to-day engineering tasks in support of the long-term strategic plan for integrating reliability based maintenance activities into the routine business of the organization.
• Participate in Cost Assessment process
• Assist electrical team on complex, electrically driven projects
• Estimate electrical equipment for potential new projects.
• Prepare pipe and valve specifications.
• Prepare equipment specifications and bid packages.
• Work with electrical maintenance department with VSDs, PLCs, distribution, instrumentation.
• Assist electrical project engineer.
• Coordination of electrical design with vendor supplied equipment
• Preparation of construction bid packages and construction specifications.
• Other functions that may be assigned.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and works with moving mechanical parts. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment including Head, Hand, Foot, Eye, and Ear protection.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

• Current Electrical Engineering student
• Strong time- management, organization, and prioritize skills with the ability to multitask and meet multiple concurrent deadlines
• Ability to learn various Company software packages
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Solid written and verbal communication skills; interact well with all levels of organization.

Pay Transparency: The starting hourly rate for this opportunity is $23.00 per hour. New-Indy provides a variety of benefits to employees, including a retirement savings plan and paid time off (PTO).
