Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for managing the procurement process, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and supplies necessary to provide for the successful operation of departments.
Duties:
- Oversee the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services required for company operations -Must be able to input all inventories into the inventory/purchasing system in a timely manner and update inventory items as needed -Responsible for the accurate recording of all transaction related to procurement and distribution including timely communication of information as established for accounting practices and procedures -Must be able to safeguard and account for all company assets in the warehouse through accurate posting, recording, logging, issuing and tracking all inventories -Responsible for ensuring month end inventories and closing procedures are accurate -Responsible for ensuring that all items received meet company expectations of quality standards and product specification -Ensure staff is adhering to safe handling of goods as they are received -Oversee, as dictated by management, the cleanliness and organization of all files, equipment, shelves, floors and other areas in the warehouse -Assist the manager in training staff personnel in other functions as needed and indirect supervision of staff when required
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining cost-effectiveness
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement, and supply chain management
- Proficiency in procurement management software and inventory control systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective vendor relations -Knowledge of spreadsheets and inventory control systems -Knowledge of fork-lift operation a plus
- Ability to fabricate strong relationships with suppliers for optimal procurement outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field a plus
