The New York Public Library is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our efforts in serving patrons who are blind or print impaired. As the Library Services Director for the Blind and Print Impaired, you will be responsible for developing and directing the delivery of services that meet the unique needs of this community.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across the Library to promote services and provide reader advisory services to the public. You will also oversee the administration of the Keystone Library Automation System (KLAS) and create and manage the departmental budget. Additionally, you will participate in broader NYPL projects and demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully supervising, training, and mentoring staff. They will also possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment and identify problems that need to be addressed. Experience working with elected officials and advocacy is a plus.
