Job Overview
Assist the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis in analyzing the overall financial performance of the New York Racing Association as well as analyze and project the impact of business strategies as well as evolving economic and competitive conditions. Work with and assist the FP&A, finance, and accounting team with the preparation and filing of periodic reports. Work with department heads on key department projects on revenue generating and cost cutting initiatives.
Essential Functions
Education (minimum): Bachelor’s Degree required, preferable accounting or finance major.
Experience: A minimum of 1 years of experience preferred.
Other Requirements: General understanding of finance principles.

- Analytical and creative minded when it comes to interpreting data and trends;
- Ability to complete tasks within set deadlines;
- Assist with variance analysis, preparation of financial reporting, and periodic reports;
- Assist executive team and department heads in analyzing revenue generating and cost cutting initiatives;
- Assist in the preparation of certain IRS, state and foreign tax returns;
- Manage escheatment and source market fee compliance;
- Assist in treasury payments;
- Assist the accounting team as necessary;
- Assist in preparation of other ad hoc projects as required.
