Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Associate will support NYSEC’s efforts to communicate its mission, programs, and values to a broad audience. This part-time position will involve content creation, digital marketing, social media management, and event promotion to enhance the visibility and impact of the Society’s work.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, creative professional with a passion for social good, progressive advocacy, and community-building. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a familiarity with digital marketing strategies, and a commitment to the values of Ethical Culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Copywriting :
Write and edit engaging content for various communications channels, including newsletter, emails, website, and social media.
Manage and curate content for NYSEC’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), ensuring consistent and on-brand messaging.
Assist in creating and sending email newsletter and event announcements using Constant Contact.
Work with the Communications Manager to effectively promote NYSEC’s events, programs, and initiatives to NYSEC Members and the public.
Update and maintain content on the NYSEC website, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Ensure that all communications and marketing materials maintain consistent branding and messaging, in line with NYSEC’s values and public image.
Qualifications
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
Interested in ethics and bringing an ethical lens to politics, art, and culture.
Compensation
This is a part-time position, with a compensation range of $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience.
