The Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development will join the current 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator to collaboratively provide leadership to a comprehensive, positive youth development program.
As a member of this team, responsibilities of the Educator will include designing and implementing a high-quality, annual overnight residential 4-H camp and day camping programming as needed, including recruitment, selection, training, and on-going oversight of teen camp counselors and adult volunteers. Design, implement and teach in-school and after-school programs including Real Money, Real World and other programs as requested. Oversee the special interest areas of Cloverbuds, CARTEENS, Shooting Sports, and other areas as identified. Provide leadership and training for variety of older youth leadership and citizenship opportunities (Junior Leaders, etc.). The Educator will also work with and/or lead committees and develop volunteers and establish and maintain partnerships within the community that support the achievement of program goals. May also convene and facilitate community coalitions focused on those needs.
The Educator should exhibit an outgoing personality, work well in a team environment, and have the ability to communicate well with a diverse population. The Educator will also work with partner organizations to provide opportunities for development of subject matter knowledge, life skill development, leadership and citizenship development.
