The IT Asset Management Specialist works within a team to coordinate procurement and asset management for OTDI and OTDI-managed IT support customers. This is a 100% on-site position at OSU's campus located in Wooster, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all IT assets are properly tagged and tracked in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Maintain basic standard configurations in stock, ensuring they are ready to image and deploy as needed.
Coordinate new hire and refresh technology requests, including entering workstation requests, managing inventory, and scheduling deployments.
Manage and review stockroom inventory, including conducting regular audits.
Track IT Support and Hardware Refresh budget usage.
Coordinate the surplus process for reclaiming and retiring outdated IT equipment.
The IT Asset Management Specialist also collaborates with Desktop Support Specialists to provide OTDI-supported customers with professional IT support services. This includes resolving software, hardware, and network issues. Responsibilities include:
Providing technical assistance to customers and other support specialists to resolve issues across a wide range of Windows and Mac OS platforms.
Supporting customers both on-site and remotely in a professional, client-focused manner, working both independently and as part of a team with limited direction.
Critical Tasks:
Communicating, tracking, and reporting computing environment outage.
Receiving, resolving, escalating, and monitoring complex customer issues/requests.
Leading and mentoring less experienced staff in providing immediate assistance and issue resolution.
Additional Duties:
Act as a team leader for complex projects, assignments, and issues associated with the help desk function.
Serve as an on-call escalation point when necessary.
Minimum Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Required Qualifications:
Two years of experience or knowledge in supporting desktop computers running Windows, Mac OS, or both in a network environment.
Experience with audiovisual equipment used in teaching, meeting, and event spaces.
Ability to work as part of a team and take the initiative to work independently.
Ability to maintain and manage information and documentation in an organized, systematic way.
Professional experience providing customer service.
Desired Qualifications:
More than two years of experience supporting desktop computers running Windows, Mac OS, or both in a network environment.
A bachelor's degree in information technology, information management, or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
Experience with image management and deployment.
Experience with and exposure to a wide variety of commercial and educational productivity applications.
Experience with support systems and remote desktop technologies.
Professional experience in a university setting.

The hiring range for this position is $22.69 - $29.83.
