Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
The 4-H Summer Student Assistant will work administratively under the Area Leader and programmatically with the County 4-H Youth Development Educator. He/she will be expected to work cooperatively with local 4-H volunteers and members in the organization and management of the Seneca County 4-H Youth Development Program. This includes coordinating, facilitating, and managing various 4-H tasks and events. This consists of tasks related to camps (Junior Camp and Cloverbud Camp), project judging, STEM Day, CARTEENS, and the Seneca County Fair. The successful candidate should possess leadership skills; organizational skills; excellent communication skills, both written and oral. In addition, they should be self-motivated and self-directed; able to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds; and be proficient in Microsoft programs and digital/graphic design.
Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule. Due to the nature of this position, there will be mandatory work dates. Applicants may not be current 4-H members or advisors/volunteers.
This position is located in Seneca County, Tiffin, OH.
Hours are flexible. This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks.
This position will require both FA and BCI/FBI background checks.
