Job Title: Technical Project Manager Department: OHTECH | OARnet Engineering Team OARnet is seeking a Technical Project Manager to facilitate network and engineering projects that range in size and complexity in support of strategic business goals and objectives. The individual will manage projects for OARnet, Ohio’s statewide network backbone. OARnet maintains and delivers services across the state’s 5,500-mile fiber-optic network backbone to support the connectivity relied upon every day by Ohio’s higher education, K-12 education, state and local government, public broadcasting, health care and research communities. Responsibilities of the Technical Project Manager include: Facilitates internal staff meetings, including network installs and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings. Sets agendas for meetings and ensures meetings are kept on task. Tracks project progress and identifies at-risk projects, using ServiceNow. Reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to executive management. Ensures projects are properly ticketed and updated in ServiceNow by relevant departments. Serves as main contact between engineering, client services and development teams. Applies industry best practices. Writes and maintains documentation. Utilizes knowledge of telecommunications services to effectively plan and manage projects. Coordinates with business office on budget, planning and fiscal project allocations. Communicates effectively and professionally with peers, executive leadership, customers, vendors, technical team members and others. The successful candidate is an excellent communicator, critical thinker, assertive and highly motivated with a positive attitude. The individual can apply exceptional analytical and problem solving-skills to multi-task and is driven by successful results. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills to manage projects of a moderate scope and complexity. Required Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 years of experience in project management. 2 years of working in a project management system. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Demonstrated experience in driving project completion. Experience in a telecommunications network service provider environment. Experience working in a ServiceNow ITIL environment. Desired Education/Experience Certificate in one or more of the following: Project Management and/or ServiceNow Proven experience in a technical project management environment, ITIL practices and qualitative analysis. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 4 years of experience with operating procedures and service level agreements with clients and coworkers.
