The Okonite Company, a leader in the wire and cable industry since 1878, is hiring a Purchaser at its Cumberland, RI location. Daily responsibilities will include reviewing material reports and entering purchase orders, updating receiving logs, and informing plant personnel of delivery dates. The position will expedite late deliveries and regularly speak with vendors regarding order status. Position entails working with accounting to investigate and adjust inventory differences.
The job will require good computer skills, attention to detail, and vendor relations.
The ideal candidate would have completed some college coursework in Accounting, Business, or other related field. Candidates with manufacturing experience would be preferred.

Morse for his telegraph network and Thomas A. Edison for the Pearl Street Generating Station, the nation's first, built in New York City in 1882.
