NOTE: This is a part-time, tenting residential seasonal position requiring a 4 week commitment during the season that begins in early May through late September, 2025.

Essential Functions

The recording shift hours are reflective of the workshop demands and will start half an hour earlier and end half an hour later than the schedule defined by the faculty. Not all workshop hours are the same, so this is a case-by-case basis.

  • Setup, remove, operate, and maintain all audio-visual equipment in the catalog and staff workshop spaces.
    • Clean equipment and maintain inventory of equipment & supplies.
    • Work with the AV Manager and Supervisor to coordinate and facilitate classroom changeovers and upcoming events.
    • Transport department-related packages.
    • Assist the Recording Supervisor with recording operations, duplication, preparations, administration, and the delivery of audio sales.
    • Communicate via phone and email with the AV management team and other Omega departments.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license, and operate motor vehicles as necessary.
    • Other duties as required by the supervisor.
    Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of live audio setup and recording, and stage lighting.
    • Working experience or the willingness and capability to learn multi-channel mixing consoles; musical, vocal, and wireless microphones; slide, overhead, and LCD projectors; TVs and VCRs; live stage setup with house system and stage monitors; basic stage lighting.
    • Comfortable and confident when engaging an audience or being on stage with faculty.
    • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop, Web Design, Pro-Tools, Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro Studio, Flash).
    • Timely, reliable, and service-oriented.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Team player.
    • Able to receive direction and self-motivate.
    • Alignment with Omega’s mission, goals, and core values.
  • Work Details

  • This position functions on the Omega campus.
  • This is a part-time position.
  • The recording shift hours are reflective of the workshop demands and will start 30 minutes earlier and end 30 minutes later than the schedule defined by the faculty. Not all workshop hours are the same, so this is a case- by- case basis.
  • Part-time, 21-28 hours a week depending on operational need. The day to day schedule varies. Most transition days (Fridays and Sundays) you will have a full day of work assigned to you. You may be assigned to a split shift.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally move items that weigh 50-100 pounds for various needs.
  • Ability to work atop a 20ft ladder.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, and ability to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.


Other Information


Part Time Seasonal Staff live in tenting neighborhoods. These individuals bring their own tent to set up on provided tent platforms (8’x8’ and 10’x10’ in size).

Assigned departments may require different attire. These requirements for each department will be posted with your weekly schedule.

Compensation

Part-time seasonal staff can expect to work at least 4-consecutive weeks from early-May through late-September and will receive a compensation package that includes:

  • Wage
  • Three delicious meals per day in our mostly vegetarian Dining Hall
  • Access to Omega’s team member benefits
  • This compensation package is at minimum equivalent to the New York State minimum wage.
