Summary
This department oversees the physical operation of the campus. Maintenance is called upon to attend to the participant and staff housing; all classroom spaces; trash recyclables as well as the water and sewage systems. Maintenance also holds “night radio” for after-hours maintenance needs of the campus.
Essential Functions

Attendance of daily “work requests” may include but not limited to:
- Garbage and recyclables pick-up
- Minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry work
- Housing duties such as changing light bulbs, oiling doors, moving furniture in guest and staff accommodations
- Sweeping roadways
- Other duties as required by supervisor
- Working with tools and machinery
- Regularly lifting/carrying/moving heavy items
- Operating motor vehicles
- Working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Requirements
- Plumbing, automotive, or general maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Timely, reliable, and service oriented individual
- Team player
- Alignment with Omega’s mission, goals, and core values
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions
- Frequently move items that weigh 75 pounds for various needs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions
- Must be able to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range

Compensation
Seasonal staff work full-time for six months, between early May through October. Seasonal staff receive a compensation package that includes:
- Wage
- Indoor housing
- Three delicious meals per day in our mostly vegetarian Dining Hall
- Access to Omega’s team member benefits
- This compensation package is at minimum equivalent to the New York State minimum wage.
