The Beacon has an immediate opening for a Program Manager. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of services provided by The Beacon while fostering a healthy, safe working environment.
Starting salary: $56,000

Principal Accountabilities
Staff Management and Development
- Supervises direct services staff and is responsible for the managing, developing, scheduling and training staff.
- Works in collaboration with the Program Director to recruit, hire, and on-board direct services staff. Provides support to staff to ensure tasks are being completed and guest needs are being met.
Program Management and Development
- Coordinates and supervises the daily operations of the program.
- Handles guest issues and concerns with a trauma-informed approach.
- Regularly attends relevant meetings to be up to date about partner agencies and community service providers eligibility/referral processes and shares this knowledge with staff.
- Works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and assists with tasks and projects as needed including assisting volunteers when the Volunteer Coordinator is not available.
- Seeks out and attends on-going, relevant educational opportunities and training to enhance skills and stay informed of current research and best practices in homeless services.
Facility/Operations
- Works directly with Program Director to ensure the Beacon property is clean, sanitized, and in safe, working condition; monitors building maintenance and upkeep.
- Manages safety equipment, vehicle maintenance and contracted security services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience supervising and managing employees.
- Experience working with people who have mental health and substance abuse issues is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience with homelessness services is preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and professional judgement.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, appropriate proof of auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
- Must have the ability to lift 25-50 pounds and tolerate medium to high physical effort including walking, standing, lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling.
