We are seeking a full-time Divisional Controller (Hybrid) to join our Central Administration Office in NE Portland. You will work with clinical, operational and technology teams who value their team and working together to help our patients get the best possible care
We are searching for an action-oriented critical thinker focused on problem solving, process-improvement and delivering a high level of customer service with at least 10 years prior experience in accounting. Candidates must be located in Oregon and SW Washington for occasional onsite meetings and travel between clinics.
Primary essential functions will include
1. Provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers (i.e., patients, families, referring providers, insurance companies and other TOC departments). Includes effective, friendly, professional, and timely communication while anticipating and prioritizing customer's needs.
2. Acts as a financial liaison to divisions, including supporting financial modeling and financial analysis requests.
3. Reviews and distributes standard financial reporting packages. Monitors financial performance against budget, providing variance analysis on a monthly basis.
4. Administers physician compensation arrangements for assigned divisions, including maintaining a current Physician Compensation Formula policy. Prepares and ensures physician compensation is calculated in accordance with the policy on a quarterly basis.
5. Administers physician stock and accounts receivable buy-in/buy-out practices.
6. Works with Directors of Operations of assigned divisions to prepare annual budget.
7. Works directly with the CFO to ensure financial projects are completed in a timely manner.
8. Collaborates with Finance department leadership on establishing Finance policies and procedures, and various accounting functions and problem resolution.
9. Teamwork: Shows respect, collaboration, and support for coworkers/supervisor/providers. Communicates effectively and professionally, accepts accountability. Remains flexible to changes and promotes a successful work environment.
10. Safety & Policy Compliance: Adheres to TOC safety and health best practices. Consistently follows relevant laws & TOC policies, including Code of Conduct, Use of Personal Cell Phones, Attendance, IT Systems and Timekeeping policies. Maintains confidentiality, protects sensitive information, and adheres to HIPAA, security, and privacy rule
Workdays will be Monday - Friday (8:00am-5:00pm).
Medical, Vision, and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA is strongly preferred.
- 10 years prior experience in accounting.
- 5 years in a finance leadership role required. Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of medical group culture and ability to work effectively with physician owners preferred.
- Knowledge of basic information technology and computer applications.
- Knowledge of contracts with hospital systems and administration of contracts.
- Epic experience is a plus.
- Skilled in budget preparation.
- Ability to focus on multiple deadlines and meet them.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and in lay terms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, complete work timely and accurately, work ethically and with integrity and display original thinking and creativity.
- Ability to comply with all applicable safety/OSHA procedures and requirements.
