We are seeking a full-time Histology Technician to join our busy clinic located in SW Portland. You will work with exceptional physicians who value their team and working together to help our patients get the best possible care.
The Histology Technician is responsible for all phases of specimen handling and slide preparation of pathology specimens. This includes grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, quality control, quality assurance, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution.
Additional duties include, procure, revise and maintain all histology policies/procedures as required by Federal, State, reference laboratory, new laboratory practices, and clinic needs/requirements.
Workdays will be Monday - Friday (6:00am-2:30pm).
Starting pay range, based on experience: $36.94 - $55.41 per hour.

Qualifications:
- Completion of an associate degree in Applied Arts/Science or a bachelor’s degree.
- 2 years of experience in a histology laboratory is strongly preferred.
- American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification, or equivalency, as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
- Must have documented training consistent with CLIA 88 requirements for the position held. This is to be reflective of the scope of practice and standards of practice in regular scheduled responsibilities and pay grade meeting all the HCFA-CLIA 88 requirements.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Strong commitment to patient care and privacy guidelines.
