About Us:
The Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic is a physician-owned clinic specializing in orthopedic care for all ages. With a specialized, comprehensive team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, physical therapists, and friendly support staff, OFC is among Minnesota's most experienced orthopedic groups. Our primary clinic offers comprehensive services through our Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine Department, Back Care Center, in-office X-ray, and MRI.
About the Role:
Transcriptionist transcribes recorded dictation into written form. Responsible for listening to audio files and typing verbatim into patient electronic charts. The ideal candidate should have excellent listening and typing skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Listen to recording and transcribe audio files into text files.
• Ensure the accuracy of transcribed text.
• Understand details of client requirements regarding formatting and notation.
• Complete transcriptions on time, reviewing grammar, punctuation, and spelling before submission.
• Correct any errors or inaccuracies promptly.
• Ensure typing skills are honed and remain sharp.
• Review and edit for clarity and correct medical terminology.
• Communicate with medical providers to fact-check information and medical terms, if necessary.
• Type various medical documents, including patient office notes, correspondence, internal memos, medico-legal reports, IMEs, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality involving all work-related tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Location & Commitments:
• Full-time position M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with flexibility.
Required Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient in medical terminology.
• Ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Minimum of 65 wpm.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills to effectively work with various managers, employees, and other departments.
• Able to perceive and interpret written, oral/verbal material and generate written and electronic material.
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
