Job Description
The Osthoff Resort is looking for hosts and hostesses to join our team. These positions ensure a warm welcome, seamless check-in, and friendly service for guests while upholding the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fun, fast-paced resort setting with a great team!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly greet guests upon arrival
- Take reservations in person and over the phone
- Update Open Table software
- Plot reservations for the night
- Check parties in and seat guests when table is ready
- Avoid turning back to guests when showing them to a table
- Remove unused place settings
- Check and respond to voicemails
- Check for special menus
- Wipe down menus and conduct menu sweeps
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency
- Work closely with other team members to maintain smooth service
- Provide friendly, professional, and proactive customer service
- Smile while engaging with guests
- Never say “I don’t know”; instead say “Let me go find someone who can help or know the answer”
- Assist in the checklists at the beginning/end of each shift with the team
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong customer/guest service skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards guests and other team members
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
- Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to have a positive attitude with the willingness to go above and beyond what is expected
- Possess great problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on the spot
- Able to work both inside and outside, in a variety of conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
