The Overlake School seeks a temporary Communications Associate from Mid-April to Mid-October 2025 for a Maternity leave.

General Summary:
Supports the communications department in providing communication to all constituents of the school community. Will also providing coverage for front desk reception when necessary.
Principal Duties:
- Feed content of Overlake social media platforms regularly
- Monitor what’s being said on social media channels to respond accordingly
- Attend MS & US announcements for story ideas
- Take photos of events happening around campus
- Write content for website and in particular Overlake News section of website
- Manage e-mail marketing campaigns
Other Duties:
- Provide primary front desk reception during receptionists’ lunch break and at end of day
- Provide back up as needed during vacation and on sick days
- Other duties as assigned by the Dir. of Communications
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director of Communications
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferred degree in communication or journalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, copy editing skills a plus
- Advanced knowledge of social media
- Advanced knowledge of e-mail marketing programs
- Ability with digital platforms, including still photography and video
- Curiosity about learning
- Ease in talking with and interviewing people in order to get the story
- Cheerful, energetic demeanor that provides welcoming spirit
