Our client, a premier manufacturer and industry leader in the Milwaukee area, seeks a highly motivated, strategic, and results-driven chief operations officer to become an integral leader in developing and executing the vision and strategy for a growing business. The COO is tasked with developing and implementing the business strategy for profitability and growth and will have full P&L responsibility for this business, including Operations, Engineering, and New Product Development. The COO will collaborate across all levels of the organization to meet division objectives. This individual will have five divisional general managers reporting to them. Primary Responsibilities :
- Manage all business functions, including manufacturing operations, customer service, product development, and supply chain.
- Engage the leadership team in setting and achieving specific goals around ongoing Transformation and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.
- Collaborate with peers to identify and secure new business opportunities and improve operational effectiveness.
- Establishes goals and metrics for each department and oversees each department to ensure they are operating effectively and meeting goals on time.
- As a business leader for external (customer or supplier) and internal (business) issues requiring escalation, decision-making, and direction.
- Manage the business to meet customer satisfaction and on-time performance goals.
- Drives product development and innovation to meet the customer’s needs today and in the future.
- Leverage relationships and contacts in the industry to enhance sales and marketing efforts.
- Supervises the planning and implementation of production plans, including sales forecasts, procurement of raw materials, and product manufacturing.
- Drives operational excellence with complete implementation of lean manufacturing.
- Foster a culture in the organization that includes respect, trust, and collaboration.
- Drives a results-oriented mindset directed towards meeting the customer needs now and through the entire organization.
- Develop a Lean and Continuous Improvement mindset throughout the organization.
