We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations for our manufacturing client location in the southwest suburbs. This strategic leadership role reports directly to the Owner and is crucial in shaping and implementing financial strategy. We seek someone with strong technical accounting skills who can also motivate and inspire a small, agile team. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making.
Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement preparation.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts to align with operational and strategic goals.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to maintain operational liquidity.
Internal Controls: Establish robust internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and safeguard company assets.
Audit and Compliance: Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance-related activities.
Treasury Function: Oversee treasury operations including cash management and financing strategies.
Team Leadership: Mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting preferred.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Multi-location experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
- Capable of leading projects with minimal supervision and managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Customer-driven mindset with sound business judgment.
