Assistant Camp Manager – PADONIA Summer Camps
Full-Time/Seasonal Non-Exempt/Hourly
Reports To: Camps Manager
General Role:
To oversee the organization, preparation, and day-to-day operations of a successful youth day camp.
Specific Duties:
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee safe, well-rounded, age-appropriate, engaging, energetic, fun, high quality camp programs and activities for day campers
- Schedule staff along with Camps Manager and Director
- Train, manage, and evaluate staff providing support and disciplinary measures when necessary
- Successfully complete training for zipline, ropes course, archery, and other related activities and safely oversee camper participation in zipline, ropes course, archery, and other related activities
- Train, manage, and evaluate staff providing support and disciplinary measures when necessary
- Develop lists of supplies for purchasing during the development stage of camp preparation
- Arrange inventory for materials and supplies to support the program
- Provide regular updates during the development stage of camp preparation and throughout its entirety to the Camps Manager and Director
- Oversee camper placement within groups
- Oversee the follow-through of any correspondence necessary related to camp functions and activities (i.e. virtual welcome to parents prior to camp start and provide daily communications with parents/guardians)
- Address emergency situations, discipline, and other significant issues related to campers and/or facilities & staff
- Support and supervise counselors in organizing, implementing, decision-making, and problem-solving situations pertaining to a variety of issues including campers and facilities
- Maintain a positive team atmosphere that includes campers, families, and staff
- Assist in the evaluation of the camp itself, as well as the camping experience for youth participants
- Uphold all safety and security measures put forth by the Camps Manager, Director, and other governing authorities/bodies
- Duties include assisting with special events, character performing, food and beverage operations, general maintenance, and other assigned duties
- Cleaning duties include all areas such as full bathroom, cleaning (toilets, showers, stocking, trash, floors, etc.) event spaces, offices, swimming pools, grounds, etc.
- Follow all safety and health guidelines as outlined by the company
- All other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
- 18 years old
- Associate’s degree or higher
- 2 years’ experience working with children and 2 years of camp oversight
- Available Monday to Friday from June 16, 2025, to August 22, 2025
- Ability to lead and motivate

Environmental Conditions and Physical Expectations:
- Must be able to work in outdoors venues that include a variety of weather conditions including hot or cold temperatures as well as rain and humidity
- Must be able to participate in swimming and wading activities during the summer session which will require wearing a swimsuit and getting into the pools
- Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time as long as 4 hours
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to approximately 2 hours
- Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. for preparation, emergency medical, or evacuation purposes
- Must be able to lift, push or carry 50 lbs. frequently
- Must be able to work shifts that include arriving/departing in both daylight/nighttime conditions
- Must be able to engage in physical activities that include walking, jumping, running, throwing, stretching, etc.
