Counselor – PADONIA Summer Camps
Full-Time/Seasonal Non-Exempt/Hourly
Reports To: Camp Managers
General Role:
To lead campers through their daily routine participating in all activities. This person will represent the camp with a professional manner that promotes an energetic, fun, team-like atmosphere.
Specific Duties:
- Ensure the safety of all campers, staff, etc.
- Supervising campers assigned to the group at all times
- To assist and support special activities
- If necessary, successfully complete training for zipline, ropes course, archery, and other related activities and safely oversee camper participation in zipline, ropes course, archery, and other related activities
- Attend all staff training and meetings
- Deal with behavioral issues following the PADONIA Summer Camps guidelines
- Take camper headcounts upon arrival and departure of all activities
- To keep inventory of equipment and supplies
- Clean up area following the completion of all activities
- Duties include assisting with special events, character performing, food and beverage operations, general maintenance, and other assigned duties
- Cleaning duties include all areas such as full bathroom, cleaning (toilets, showers, stocking, trash, floors, etc.) event spaces, offices, swimming pools, grounds, etc.
- Follow all safety and health guidelines as outlined by the company
- All other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
- 18 years old
- High School graduate or higher
- 2 years’ experience working with children
- Preferred Availability - Monday to Friday from June 16, 2025, to August 22, 2025
- Ability to lead and motivate
- Organized
- Fun-loving and energetic
- Submit to pre-placement background check with favorable results

Environmental Conditions and Physical Expectations:
- Must be able to work in both air-conditioned/heated classrooms as well as outdoor venues that include a variety of weather conditions including hot or cold temperatures
- Must be able to participate in swimming and wading activities during the summer session which will require wearing a swimsuit and getting into the pools
- Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time as long as 2 hours
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to approximately 2 hours
- Must be able to lift children who weigh 20-50 bs. for emergency medical, or evacuation purposes
- Must be able to lift, push or carry 50 lbs. frequently
- Must be able to work shifts that include arriving/departing in both daylight/nighttime conditions
- Must be able to engage in physical activities that include walking, jumping, running, throwing, stretching, etc.
- Must be able to engage in physical activities that may include low ropes course, zipline, archery, Adventure Camp activities, etc.
