A Hotel Houseperson/Laundry Attendant responds promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms. Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and carpet shampoo machine.
- Cleans hallways and restrooms.
- Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture and turn mattress.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
- Collects soiled linen for laundering.
- Removes trash collected by room attendants.
- Deliver towels, cribs and other items to the guest rooms on request.
- Sort linen, stock room attendant closets.
- Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
- Report missing / found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors/manager.
- Always respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
- Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
- Wash, Dry and Sort linen by type.
- Follow proper laundry folding and stacking procedures.
- Vacuuming and Mopping Floors.
- Help maintain Public Space areas along with taking out the Trash.
- Transport linen from guest hallways to laundry area when needed.
- Ensure that linen is clean and available for use for all shifts of Housekeeping
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Be able to work with cleaning chemicals.
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
- Must have Open Availability
- Must be able to move up to 30 lbs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
