The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all facilities and specialized machinery used to manufacture precision optics. This role involves troubleshooting, and repair of specialized machinery. This role will coordinate with external service providers and vendors, maintain the preventive maintenance processes and schedules and will be responsible for the ongoing operation of plant utilities and facilities including building maintenance and upkeep. This role will be a member of the Safety Committee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Dismantles machinery and equipment to determine root cause of equipment problems, remove and replace defective parts.
Diagnoses the failure modes of equipment and infrastructure though various diagnostic methods.
Collaborates with Production and Engineering to improve the over-all effectiveness of equipment.
Identifies opportunities to implement Autonomous PM and trains team members on best practices
Works with suppliers to source services, equipment and parts. Initiates purchase order requests as needed.
Oversees and initiates contracts for grounds and building maintenance activities.
Performs limited maintenance / repair on building as needed.
Serves as a leader within the organization, exemplifying the standards of conduct and safety.
Qualifications :

Education / Experience :
Minimum of five years in a facilities maintenance leadership role.
Minimum of five years' experience managing service providers.
Applicable certifications in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding, etc. and or relevant on the job experience.
Language Ability :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability :
Demonstrated ability to apply basic business math to the job.
Continuous Improvement Methods :
Ability to safely conduct root cause analysis, manage variables, troubleshoot and test to solve problems without the benefit of formal instruction.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills :
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications, primarily Word, Outlook and Excel. Prior demonstrated experience implementing and using CMMS software is highly preferred.
Certificates and Licenses :
Applicable certificates are highly preferred.
Mechanical background required.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
This position requires prior leadership experience of one or more direct reports.
