Job Summary
The Event Coordinator for The Patrick Michael Company will play a critical leadership role in the execution of the company’s events. The vision of the event coordinator is an independent, self-starter, results oriented leader. The event coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the logistics of an event on event day. They ensure everything runs smoothly, handle any issues that arise, and ensures that the vision for the event is carried out as planned.
Duties
- Coordination with Vendors: Communicating with and supervising vendors (caterers, florists, photographers, etc.) to ensure they arrive on time and provide their services as expected.
- Timeline Management: Assist the planner with ensuring the event set up and breakdown follows the timeline and schedule according to plan.
- Setup and Breakdown: Supervising the setup of the venue before the event begins, ensuring everything is in place (decor, furniture, equipment), and overseeing the breakdown afterward.
- Guest Assistance: Assist the planner with being the first point of contact for guests, answering questions, providing directions, and ensuring that everyone is comfortable and taken care of with a level of professional excellence.
- Problem-Solving: Handling any unexpected issues or emergencies calmly and efficiently. (e.g., delays or technical difficulties)
- Communication: Assisting the planner with coordinating all aspects of the event, ensuring that all parties (including staff, guests, and vendors) are in sync.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event coordination or a related field within the restaurant or hotel industry is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in events management software and tools.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors.
- Knowledge of catering services and hospitality best practices is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for creating memorable experiences through effective event execution.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
