This project is directed by Drs. Greg Fosco and Mark Feinberg.

Applications are invited from individuals who are interested in a position combining some project management and data management/analysis, with the opportunity to develop and serve as lead-author on papers utilizing available datasets. Applicants who would like to pursue these positions should have experience in statistical analysis of longitudinal data, with preference for strengths in advanced structural equation modeling and/or multilevel modeling. We are seeking applicants with a background in child/adolescent development, family research, and/or community risk and prevention, as well as possess strong conceptualization and writing skills. Such an individual will be supported in developing an independent line of investigation.

This Post-Doctoral position is attached to a NICHD-funded study examining the intergenerational effects of the PROmoting School-community-university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience (PROSPER) intervention delivery system. The original project was a large-scale, community-level randomized trial of 28 rural and semi-rural communities in Iowa and Pennsylvania. At the start of the study, nearly 11,000 youth participated in this trial, data collection has been on-going starting in 6th grade, continuing into their mid-twenties. This project will focus on those young adults who have had children to understand the intergenerational impact of PROSPER for the second generation.

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.

Education and Experience:

This position requires a PhD at time of hire. Applicants to all positions should have relevant research experience, strong statistical skills, and a capacity to work closely with others.

Application Requirements:

To apply, please email a letter of interest and vita to Michelle Hostetler (MXH14@psu.edu). In a brief cover letter, please:

(a) indicate your research interests,

(b) list competencies and experience in specific advanced statistical techniques (e.g. multi-level modeling, SEM, longitudinal analysis, etc.) and particular statistical packages (SAS, R, SPSS, AMOS, STATA, MPLUS, etc.), and

(c) briefly describe any previous experience in applied research.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
