Our client, a manufacturing company located in Vineland, NJ is looking for a Plant Controller to join their team.
What you will do in this role:
- Oversee finance operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting, ensuring timely completion of month-end financial close
- Analyze/reconcile accounts to ensure the balance sheet and costs are properly stated
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries
- Develop & Utilize various tools to compile financial reports.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows. While maintain proper spending controls
- Lead the development of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection, LE’s (Latest Estimates) and month-end close processes.
- Maintain stewardship of complete, consistent, and accurate financial data.
- Identify and analyze potential events that may adversely impact the company’s financial position.
- Prepare and analyze monthly & quarterly operating cost variances to Latest Estimated, prior year and provide meaningful commentary
- Monitor, evaluate, and track inventory assets.
- Lead and direct budgeting / Quarterly LE process at plant
- Lead and direct & drive cost management at the plants for manufactured products, and support pricing decisions for various Customers & Items
- Monitor/facilitate Capex project reporting, completions, and fixed asset capitalizations.
- Support management team through meaningful analysis of costs and trends.
- Recommend & drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business or Accounting and hold a CPA
- 5 years of experience in Plant Controlling or similar experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel functionality (Power Pivot, Data Modelling experience will be considered an asset)
- Driven, proven track record of reporting process improvements and ability to work in high pressure environments.
- Meticulous attention to detail & very strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to adjust workload and hours, when necessary, especially during Quarter end
- Must have food manufacturing experience would be preferred/ manufacturing a must
- Strong Cost Accounting experience
