Job Summary: Serve customers by processing a variety of banking transactions, answering the phone, and providing excellent customer service. Will Float from branch to branch as needed with an assigned home branch.
Reports To: Branch Manager
Duties:
- Receive deposits; verify cash and endorsements; issue receipts; process loan and credit card payments.
- Accept checks for cashing and paying; verify endorsements; identify customer; ensure validity; and make changes.
- Sell bank services.
- Sell money orders.
- Enhance the bank’s image through effective and friendly customer and public relations, while providing friendly and courteous service at all times, assisting customers with account problems until the problem is resolved, and receiving few complaints from customers on the service you provide.
- Manage and balance cash fund.
- Assist in opening night depository bags.
- Prepare change orders for commercial customers.
- Prepare CTR’s when transaction requires report to be produced.
- Train on and be able to run daily tickets through the Teller Capture machine.
- Keep secure currency under your direct responsibility.
- Adhere to current Reg CC requirements.
- Be responsible for all compliance related regulations pertaining to your job function including, but not limited to: Terms and Conditions of Accounts; Privacy; Funds Availability; Truth-in-Savings; electronic Funds Transfers; Bank Overdraft Privilege; Substitute Checks; Fair Lending; BSA/AML; Account Eligibility; Excessive Account Activity Review.
- Cooperate with everyone in the bank and assist any and all departments when needed to help the bank operate as efficiently and profitably as possible, and cross-train where needed to help during vacation time or illness.
Other Essential Functions:
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Must stay awake and alert during scheduled working hours.
- Need to have the finger and wrist dexterity to operate computers, adding machines, printers, scanners, etc. as well as to do any paperwork involved with position.
- Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight.
- Have the ability to bend over to pick up objects or to open cabinets, drawers etc.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time while waiting on customers.
- Have the necessary transportation to travel to other branches or to training sites, seminars, etc.
Accountability:
You will be accountable to your immediate supervisor and to senior management. Therefore, continued employment in this position will be dependent on the ability to perform these duties properly, and on the bank’s continued need for this position. As part of the job description, you must attend the required after-hours Employee meetings as outlined in The Peoples Bank Employee Handbook or as required by Sr. Management.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must be proficient in math skills, have and maintain good credit, have good communication skills and be able to pass a drug test for narcotics and alcohol as well as a clear background check with law enforcement. Candidate must also be eighteen years or older to be eligible for hire.
