We are seeking a part-time Front Desk Host/Administrative Assistant to join our thriving team of performing arts educators.
DESCRIPTION
- Our Front Desk Host/Administrative Assistant is responsible for helping ensure the success of front desk operations during our busiest times. We are a bustling performing arts studio with over 100 classes per week in dance, theater and voice! The Front Desk Host/Administrative Assistantacts independently as the “Staff Member on Duty” during classes and events to maintain the five-star customer service and experience for which we are known! Primary responsibilities include greeting and welcoming families, answering and returning phone calls, customer service, managing birthday party bookings, costume admin support for recitals and musicals, light graphic design/social media, and supporting the teachers and families. Additionally, a key responsibility will be assisting with costume coordination for musicals and Recitals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day front desk coverage, adhering to all essential policies and procedures, including safety and security.
- Understand and enthusiastically support the mission and values of the studio and model the behavior and attitudes that build community.
- Employees invest in the life of the school by participating in regular meetings, anti-bias training, and any aspects that support the student and family experience.
- Position involves lifting up to 35 lbs. and frequent trips up and down stairs.
- Complete daily tasks and initiatives assigned by members of the leadership and management teams including supporting costume coordination, birthday party bookings, inventorying, supply/material prep, printing, shredding, and more.
- Communication with current and prospective families regarding sales, scheduling, program questions, registration, facilitating conversations with teachers, welcoming families, helping families navigate our studio and their schedules, etc.
- Maintain and report on student attendance records.
- Maintain an internal email address.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked and welcoming lobby, office, and common area environments.
- Attend certain weekend events for box office support.
- Step in as needed to support teachers.
- Receive deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE
- The position is open immediately and runs from late August through the end of May.
- Monday-Thursday from 5:30-9:30pm (16 hours per week). for a list of closed studio dates.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Meet expectations including punctuality and professionalism in conversation and in writing; consistently meet deadlines and communicate frequently and appropriately on progress on projects and goals.
- Success in the role requires demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to problem solve and address matters relating to "front of house" operations quickly to ensure a world-class customer experience.
- The Front Desk Host/Administrative Assistant must be able to respond to demands from various departments and event and venue staff creatively and confidently while helping maintain a positive, safe, and successful workplace.
- You enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy studio and are able to shift focus as needed with enthusiasm – whether that be tending to a client’s needs, navigating a difficult conversation with a parent, or performing a high-level administrative task.
