The Pettengill House, Inc. is a nonprofit community-based social services agency that has been providing critical programs and services for the most vulnerable and at-risk members of the greater Newburyport communities, including Amesbury, Byfield, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, and West Newbury, MA for 30 years.

Primary Responsibilities of Bookkeeper:
· Record and classify financial transactions and grant classifications in QuickBooks Desktop
· Managed day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable
· Oversee reconciliations for bank accounts, all agency accounts and transactions
· Provide monthly agency financial reports to the Executive Director and Treasurer
· Create and send invoices
· Prepare files for annual audit and work with CPA and Executive Director
- Prepare tax documents and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards
· Provide budget development assistance to the executive director for the annual budget and grants
· Provide administrative support for grants and reports
· Post agency staff time worked and earned leave
Other Requirements:
· QuickBooks Certified
· Highly organized
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Dependable and reliable
· Maintain confidentiality
Office Manager Responsibilities:
· Manage the agency's administrative records and filing system
· Acting secretary to executive director
· Acting agency receptionist
· Purchase agency program supplies
· Provide ongoing day-to-day administrative support of operations and systems
· Assist with annual mailings and reports as deemed necessary
· Maintain the donor database record system, process thank you letters, and reporting
· Order agency supplies
· Oversee agency technology needs

· Proficient in basic computer skills
· Maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
We require:
· QuickBooks Certified
· Valid Driver's license
· Motor vehicle in operating condition
· Travel as needed within the catchment area of the agency
