Position Overview
The Pew Charitable Trusts is seeking a versatile and dynamic project manager to lead and oversee a wide range of communications, multimedia, creative, and digital projects. In this multifaceted role, the Senior Associate will report to the manager, Project Management Office, and will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring project delivery within timelines, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation. The position is based in Pew's Washington, DC office and will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of each week.
Responsibilities
Define and manage the project scope, allocating resources effectively, and proactively addressing potential risks throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain timelines in Workfront and facilitate feedback among communications, editorial, multimedia, creative, and digital teams.
Manage the content production process on a wide variety of digital, print, and multimedia products across the communications department.
Review and report progress, manage obstacles and project communication as well as document issues that affect the project and escalate to management, when needed.
Coordinate with social media and email marketing team when planning product releases.
Coordinate, review and post content on the Pew website as needed, using best practices for optimizing digital content.
Anticipate bottlenecks during high-production times and work closely with all relevant teams to manage expectations with stakeholders, propose solutions where needed, and help prioritize product delivery when necessary.
Attend planning meetings and build relationships across departments.
Provide project leadership, fostering a collaborative work environment, and generating progress reports and comprehensive documentation for future reference.
Conduct post-project evaluations to learn valuable lessons, celebrate successes, and identify areas for improvement in upcoming projects.
Contribute to communications department tasks as well as broader Pew-wide projects and/or committees as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Generally, a minimum of 4 years of professional experience with website management, digital marketing, and/or project management experience.
Experience managing projects in an agency or nonprofit environment, and delivering content within editorial, multimedia, creative, and digital environments a plus.
Demonstrated time and project management skills, including an ability to meet deadlines by identifying resources for digital projects and maintaining a high level of organization.
Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work individually and in a group to meet goals.
Familiarity with website management and best practices for optimizing digital content and user experience. Possess an interest in learning new technologies, techniques, and practices.
Familiarity with editorial and creative processes and best practices.
Knowledge of project and resource management software, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML editor, and web analytics software. Experience with Workfront or similar platform strongly preferred.
Travel
Minimal travel anticipated.
