Café/Coffee Shop Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Shift Manager to oversee daily operations in our (at times) fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all team members deliver high-quality service while adhering to food safety standards and operational procedures.

Note: Listed wage does not include tips! Our tip rate adds $4-$6 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during shifts to ensure efficient operations.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Train new employees on food handling, safety protocols, and the use of Toast POS systems.
• Manage cash handling procedures, including operating cash registers and processing transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance productivity.

Experience

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within the food and specifically coffee service industry is required.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating positive dining experiences.
• Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
• Experience using Toast POS systems is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• A ServeSafe certification is a major benefit but not required.
