The Pines at Davidson is hiring a Painter. The painter is responsible for performing routine to complex surface preparation, selecting appropriate paint materials, and using various application techniques to achieve a high-quality finish. Removes old finishes and preps surfaces for interior and/or exterior painting. Applies coats of primer, paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, other structures, and/or equipment. Order paint materials, estimating the amount of paint needed, and coordinating schedules with other phases of work. Maintains inventory of supplies, including paint brushes, tarps, chemicals. Poses the ability to patch and finish drywall applications. This role requires attention to detail, a steady hand, and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines. The Painter must complete work orders and tasks given by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Plant Services Director. The teamwork at The Pines and the appreciation of our residents are second-to-none. Who You Are
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in painting or a related field.
- Construction or maintenance-related experience is preferred
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Proficiency in various painting techniques.
- Knowledge of different types of paintings and their applications.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions.
- Ability to patch Drywall applications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and cleaning surfaces.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- Ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS DETERMINED USING WORKSHEET): (Include Vision, Language, Hearing, Range of Motion, Lifting Capacity, Sitting/Standing, etc.)
- Extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing.
- Some driving is required.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive use of hands includes simple grasping of fewer than 10 lbs. frequently; fine manipulation using a keyboard and writing frequently.
- Sensory requirements: Write, keyboard, speak on the phone and in person, speak to large groups, read computer monitor, hear spoken questions and comments in person, on the phone, and in large groups.
- Work performed in an indoor setting with occasional walking outdoors to various campus locations.
