The Plus Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHS Regulatory Manager – Permitting & Compliance to oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance and permitting programs across. This position requires expertise in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and occupational safety standards, with a strong preference for candidates with extensive experience in permitting applications and renewals.
The EHS Regulatory Manager will directly manage a team of 3 EHS Coordinators, 1 Wastewater Manager, and 3 Wastewater Supervisors. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and will lead efforts to ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and state/local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Permitting (Primary Focus):
- Manage all environmental permits, including air, water (wastewater & stormwater), hazardous materials, and waste disposal across multiple states.
- Lead permitting applications, renewals, modifications, and compliance tracking to maintain adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, ADEQ, ODEQ, TCEQ, and other state/local agencies.
- Work with external EHS consultants to support permitting and regulatory reporting.
- Serve as the primary regulatory contact for agency inquiries, inspections, and enforcement actions.
- Oversee environmental compliance reporting, including:
- Tier II Reporting
- TRI (Toxic Release Inventory)
- NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System)
- SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans)
- Hazardous Materials Business Plans
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance on compliance, reporting, and operational excellence.
- Establish and implement best practices to strengthen environmental and safety programs.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support EHS training and awareness programs.
Operational Excellence:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance EHS performance and reduce risks.
- Stay updated on evolving regulations and industry standards to ensure proactive compliance.
- Lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify and address gaps in compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in EHS compliance and permitting, with multi-state experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of EPA, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, ADEQ, ODEQ, TCEQ, and other relevant regulations.
- Proven experience managing permitting processes and compliance reporting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
