The Point is hiring a Production & Communications Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to lead and inspire excellence and authenticity in production (85% of time) and communication (15% of time) initiatives so that the people of The Point are celebrated, known, and empowered to be all that God has created them to be.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of experience in a production role in a church required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ministry Leadership, Communications, Media, or a related field preferred. Related experience will be taken into consideration in place of education.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and recruit volunteers inspiring them to serve through their individual giftings.
  • Proficient in live production used in the church such as video, lighting and ProPresenter.
  • Understanding of digital media, website management, and social media platforms preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences.
  • Experience planning and executing events, programs, and services.
  • A heart for ministry and a desire to serve in a faith-based environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Proficient in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Rock and/or ability to learn technology quickly. 
  • Understanding of and belief in Christian values and a commitment to supporting the mission of the church.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead and model Holy Spirit-centered production for Sunday morning experiences and events
  • Maintain a healthy culture for staff and volunteers by leading through joy and affirmation
  • Train and equip volunteer production team to be excellent in their gifting of production, communications, and/or creative arts
  • Strive for continuous improvement to maintain excellence for the multi-site streamed content and the online experience
  • Routinely monitor and upgrade equipment as directed by the Communications and Programming Pastor
  • Execute The Point’s vision through support of the church communication strategy and the creation of visual and graphic assets
  • Other duties as assigned

ATTRIBUTES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

 

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities. Can train and develop volunteer leaders, help people realize their full potential, and build/evaluate/fine-tune highly effective systems.
  • Several years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in production, creative arts, media/communication, or related fields.
  • Proficient with and a strong knowledge of lighting and video production equipment and software, and graphic design software. Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Respond to email/phone communications promptly (24-48 hours), plan ahead, work collaboratively weekly to create the best Sunday service experience alongside the team.
  • Demonstrates Christian faith through active participation in the faith community and maintaining a growing personal relationship with God.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

  • Full-Time, Salaried
  • Sunday – Thursday, or as required

  • Charlottesville, VA (or surrounding area)
