The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Accounting Manager to join our shared services team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for general accounting tasks for the assigned hotel. We have multiple hotels in the Houston-Galveston area. Responsibilities will be to assist the property or properties with balance sheet and bank reconciliations, journal entries and general accounting tasks. The Accounting Manager will ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the financial reporting and Accounting functions while providing information and assistance to the property Director of Finance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Approach all encounters with associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
-Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
-Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
-Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
-Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
-Ensure compliance of all policies and Code of Conduct as specified in the Employee Handbook.
-Maximize productivity, identify problem areas and assist in finding and implementing solutions.
-Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines. Investigate and critique variances to budget or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.
-Develop a working acknowledge of Accounting positions and functions and be able to perform these duties in the event of turnover, absence, or vacation.
-Continually work on a defined development plan, which prepares the Assistant Director of Finance for expanded responsibility within the organization.
-Support Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance in ensuring hotel's compliance to all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items.
-Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotel's financial objectives.
-Ensure that all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliation's are properly reconciled on a timely basis.
-Review and approve the Income Audit daily, and ensure that critical operational procedures are accomplished on a daily basis to include credit card reconciliation and transmission, daily deposits, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, master keys, payroll, records retention, and employee records.
-Continually focus on training and development programs for the Accounting associates to cultivate the "brightest" and "best talent within the industry.
-Hire, train, supervise and develop staff, including coaching, counseling and discipline.
-Direct or prepare all financial reports in accordance with standards, meeting various due dates and deadlines.
-Attend meetings/training as required by management.
-Perform other duties as requested by management.
