The Privette School of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church (www.privetteschool.org) is seeking an experienced preschool director to serve as our new leader. Our preschool serves children from infants through preschool, plus after-school children, and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, with one day off during the Monday-Friday work week.
Our new director would oversee the day-to-day operations of the school. Duties include, but are not limited to: staffing, maintaining a master school roster, budget compliance, recruiting new families and staff, ensuring health and safety practices are compliant, and maintaining a full and happy school.
· Salary Range: $35,000 - $37,000 (based on qualifications and experience)
· Paid holiday/vacation available
· Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education or other relevant field.
· 4 years experience in a preschool or child care setting with management experience
· Meet the Mississippi State requirements to be a child care center director as listed on the Mississippi Department of Health web site.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational and managerial skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to young children, teachers, and parents
· Ability to manage a budget and create financial statements
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, and Desktop Publishing Software preferred
The preschool director is responsible for the success of the preschool, transitional kindergarten, and extended care programs.She/he will ensure that there is a caring and sage environment for the children.
· Assure compliance with applicable state and county codes and regulations
· Comply with state licensing child care regulations including completing appropriate paperwork.
· Prepare monthly reports on the status of the program to the Privette Committee
· Communicate with parents by e-mail, phone, formal and informal meetings, and newsletters.
· Solicit information periodically from families to determine satisfaction and improve the program.
· Prepare and maintain the preschool handbook containing procedures and policies. Making sure the handbook is approved by the Privette Committee.
· Participate in professional development workshops, classes and organizations.
· Maintain a variety of records, including registration, permission slips, accident reports, medical records, etc.
· Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties, such as answering the phone, running errands, picking up supplies, conducting activities, and helping set up events.
· Recruit, select and hire staff to run the preschool program in compliance with the Mississippi regulations.
· Supervise and formally evaluate all preschool staff.
· Plan and provide staff development opportunities and training.
· Hold staff meetings on a regular basis.
· Collaborate with teachers to plan instructional activities and lessons, which promote developmentally appropriate student learning
· Oversee and formally evaluate the Reggio Emilia curriculum and the instruction of the staff.
· Teach, educate, and monitor children as needed.
· Procure and organize instructional equipment and supplies.
· Serve as a classroom aide as needed.
· Monitor the safety of students, staff and facilities.
· Regularly inspect equipment and play areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
· Procure and use all required safety equipment and train staff on its use.
· Review safety issues at each staff meeting.
· Ensure that all staff is CPR and First Aid certified.
· Develop and maintain an annual budget.
· Manage books.
· Prepare financial statements on a monthly basis and present them to the Privette Committee.
· Promote the positive image of the preschool.
· Work with the Privette Committee to market and advertise the preschool.

Salary & Schedule
Salary: $5, 200
Schedule: Sundays from 9AM-12:30PM
Knowledge and Skills Required
Experience with Children and Youth in a church ministry setting.
Proven record of program development.
A spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
Knowledge of Jesus Christ and United Methodist beliefs.
Ability to be flexible and to take challenges as they present themselves.
A person of grace and integrity.
Responsibilities
The qualified candidate will be present on Sunday mornings to oversee and teach children, and teenagers.
This person will seek out volunteers to help with children and youth and will equip them to teach different age groups of children and youth.
Plan special events to build our children and youth program.
Reach out to the surrounding neighborhood to invite families to come and join in this vital congregation.
Help foster a relationship with Christ for children, youth, and families.
