Design Strategist

We are hiring a Design Strategist to join our Portland, Oregon agency. The right person must have a finger on the pulse of technology, style, sport, culture, media and a whole host of other interests that inform their ideas and their designs. You have a proven track record of driving experiences in a wide range of media from initial concept to final hand-off, and can communicate your vision clearly and with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Translate brand strategy, business goals, cultural narratives, and consumer insights into compelling concepts.
• Introduce bold styles that meet business objectives.
• Concept cross-platform consumer journeys from ideation to execution.
• Be the design leader on cross-functional project teams, adding artful enhancements to multi-channel campaigns.
• Design strategically. Adapt your style to meet brand partner needs. Explain your approach and design thinking to teammates and clients in presentations and reviews.

Qualifications

• 5 Years of design experience with various media.
• Related creative agency or brand experience
• Exceptional digital skills with a demonstrated proficiency across applications like Figma, Adobe Suite, Miro, etc.
• Proven ability to design for a variety of audiences, brands, and industries. We want to know you can move from one client to the next without stumbling.
• Understand that consumers' time is limited and platform constraints are always a concern, and you build your concepts accordingly.
• Ability to communicate with both internal teams and clients.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines, often while working independently.
• You understand mediums and platforms, and how video, motion, sound, and other deliverables best live across channels.
• Deep understanding of consumer journeys, experience design, and designing for the customer lifecycle.
• Self-starting difference-maker with proven interpersonal, effective presentation, and communication skills.
• You have an execution-led mindset and demonstrated experience thinking beyond the campaign to design moments that matter.  

Reports To

The Design Strategist role reports directly to the Creative Director. 

Details

• This is an in-office Portland, Oregon position with three days per week in office. A hybrid approach will make up the other two days per week, with additional days in office per week as needed or required by management. We’re committed to maintaining a professional level of flexibility for our team to do their best work. *We are open to fully remote candidates as well on a per case basis.
• The salary band for this role is $65,000-$80,000.
