We are seeking a data-driven and creative Lifecycle Strategist to join our growing Portland, Oregon team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing customer lifecycle marketing strategies to drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth. You’ll work across channels—email, SMS, in-app messaging, push notifications, and more—to deliver personalized and impactful customer experiences throughout the end-to-end customer journey.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution
- Develop, pitch, and implement lifecycle marketing strategies to optimize customer acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation.
- Identify key customer touchpoints and craft personalized, multi-channel campaigns to enhance the customer experience.
- Collaborate with product, writing, and design teams to create engaging and relevant messaging for each lifecycle stage.
- Leverage segmentation and automation tools to deliver targeted, behavior-based campaigns.
- Develop loyalty strategies that drive engagement and retention.
- Integrate loyalty programs into lifecycle marketing efforts.
- Create membership experiences that build community and brand affinity.
- Audit current lifecycle journeys to identify gaps, optimize touchpoints, and enhance engagement.
- Support new business efforts by pitching lifecycle strategies, showcasing expertise, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of industry and channel best practices to inform strategy and drive client buy-in.
Campaign Management & Optimization
- Own the end-to-end campaign process, including planning, building, testing, launching, and analyzing.
- A/B test and continuously optimize campaign performance by iterating on messaging, timing, and channel mix.
- Monitor and report on KPIs (e.g., conversion rates, CLTV, churn, engagement rates) and provide insights to inform future strategies.
Data, Tools, & Insights
- Use data analytics and customer insights to identify opportunities for improvement and refine lifecycle strategies.
- Partner with data and analytics teams to create and maintain dashboards and reports.
- Be an expert in lifecycle tools, optimizing workflows based on client setups and recommending solutions for greater efficiency and impact.
- Stay ahead on lifecycle trends, monitoring competitors, industry benchmarks, and emerging platforms.
Qualifications
- 6 years experience working in Lifecycle Marketing capacity across highly cross-functional teams including creative and technical partners.
- Deep lifecycle communications knowledge, understanding the consumer journey from awareness to conversion and beyond, through onboarding, retention and churn winback to drive long-term lifetime value from consumers.
- Understanding of the ever-evolving digital landscape including paid media, SEO, content marketing, performance marketing, creator marketing, email, and more.
- Proven track record of presenting your work to internal teams, senior leadership, and client partners.
- Self starter with proven interpersonal and communication skill
Reports To
The Lifecycle Strategist role reports directly to the VP Strategy.
Details
- This is an in-office Portland, Oregon position with three days per week in office. A hybrid approach will make up the other two days per week, with additional days in office per week as needed or required by management. We’re committed to maintaining a professional level of flexibility for our team to do their best work. *We are open to fully remote candidates as well on a per case basis.
- The salary band for this role is $65,000-$80,000.
