We are looking for a dedicated and experienced part-time Housekeeper for our community located in beautiful Temple Terrace, Florida. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to ensure that the highest degree of cleanliness is maintained at all times in resident apartments and common areas of the community in a quick, efficient and friendly manner.
  • Cleans public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture and common areas.
  • Performs all housekeeping duties including distributing laundered articles and linens, replacing and hanging draperies, changing beds, cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Dusting furniture and equipment, polishing metalwork, washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and window sills.
  • Performs all laundry duties including: washing, drying and ironing resident laundry and community linens and textiles in provided appliances.
  • Folding and/or hanging laundry appropriately and distributing laundered articles and linens.
  • Replace and hang draperies and change beds.
  • Maintains resident laundry areas including mopping floors and washing walls regularly.
  • Washes windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested.
  • Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
  • Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies.
  • Stocks cleaning cart with supplies and secure lock.
  • Empties wastebaskets, and transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance related issues promptly to Supervisor.
  • Follow proper user directions for all compounds and chemicals.
  • Ensures residents safety when in resident areas with use of proper signage, etc.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible with schedule and available to work evening, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be flexible, innovative, persistent and committed to successful completion of assignments.
  • Should be familiar with safe operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, spray bottles, and with the safe use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Must pay attention to detail, be flexible/adaptable, and be sensitive to the needs of residents.
  • Must be able to work independently within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Maintains neat appearance, good hygiene and appropriate attire.
  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or co-workers.
  • Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents’ families, visitors and Team Members.
  • Maintains safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for chemicals or hazardous materials.
  • Participates in training, in services, and attends meetings as required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one (1) year housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Must enjoy working with seniors.
