The Prospector is a 501(c)(3) movie theater in
Ridgefield, Connecticut that employs and trains adults with disabilities.
Position: Media Production Manager
The Prospector Theater is seeking a Media Production Manager to assist in driving its mission: to provide competitive and inclusive employment to people with disabilities through the operation of a first run movie theater, e-commerce popcorn business, and resource for employment around the country. Through this operation, The Prospector enables our wide audience to create meaningful relationships with, and business opportunities for, people with disabilities in their communities, demonstrating that people with disabilities are valuable and employable contributors to society. The Media Production Manager is responsible for leading the creative team, and organizing projects for the Prospect Productions team. The Media Production Manager oversees the development and execution of creative strategies and campaigns and manages deadlines and delivery of projects, ensuring quality and alignment with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Personnel Management
- Receive and organize tasks and requests from the operation of the Prospector, Prospector Popcorn, or any Prospector related creative projects
- Dictate workflow, and assign tasks accordingly to Prospect Media Production teams o Schedule members of the team for shoots and projects while maintaining weekly schedules
- Ensure deliveries for project deadlines while maintaining final the standard of excellence the Prospector Productions team so frequently creates
- Manage human and material resources to meet production goals
- Keep track of all ongoing media tasks and needs, organize said tasks and delegate them to the appropriate team members
- Track metrics of delivery and keep team members on a task to hit deliverables in a reasonable deadline
- Design systems and project workflows that ensure successful communication between team members
- Organize Projects timelines and communicate with members outside of the Production team to transform ideas into a concrete outline, request, storyboard, or whatever document bests communicates the requestors need
- Reports directly to the Creative Director.
Production
- Integral involvement in quality programming, such as commercials, PSA’s, training videos, graphic design, audio engineering, etc.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of quality programming, such as commercials, PSA’s, training videos, graphic design, audio engineering, etc.
- Determine, set, and manage production budgets and schedule
- Communicate with team members and other departments to organize workflow, assign deadlines to projects, and deliver media in the form of video, audio, graphics, photography, or any other creative assets
- Communicate with external content creators (influencers, creative direction, celebrity, guest ect.) and create relationships as well as expose content to a wider audience
Social Media / Marketing
- Maintain a vibrant and growing online presence that represents the mission and sparkle of the Prospector
- Develop and implement a social media strategy that employs existing and emerging social media platforms
- Research the latest trends within social media create mission-oriented content
- Monitor Social Media analytics, community growth, and hit goals/ objectives of growth outlined by the organization
- Responsible for communicating and monitoring interactions and engagement on Prospector Posts across all platforms
- Help maintain, populate, and update all Prospector social channels (Theater, Popcorn, etc.)
- Creative management: Manage the production of creative marketing materials for email campaigns, social media content, and print materials
- Brand: Ensure consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints, including social media, website, and retail environments.
- Quality assurance testing: Review and test marketing campaigns during development and post-launch. Report and organize issues and bugs.
- Implement and coordinate the marketing needs of other buckets (Development, Popcorn, Theater Operations).
Training Program
- Use the production curriculum to train Prospects on all aspects of media creation and management
- Using the assessment portal and other key metrics, track the progress of members of the Production team and their developing skill sets
- Create production Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s); ensure all Prospects adhere to SOP's; drive continuous improvement of SOP's
- Coach, counsel, and train Prospects and Staff
- Evaluate on-the-job performance of Prospects and Staff
Technology Support
- Ensure all cameras, computers, tablets, etc. are in working order and are easily accessible to Prospects
- Troubleshoot any technical issues in a timely manner
- Train/coach Prospects to assist in use of and maintenance of technical equipment
Qualifications:
Education and experience
- Media Production, Film, or related degree
- 3-5 years of experience in production
- Strong customer focus and positive attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work with people with disabilities.
Additional Qualifications:
- Demonstrated team player – has shown the ability to lead, support, and coach others
- Outstanding communication skills, demonstrated in multiple settings/situations – especially in demanding/stressful situations
- Physical stamina – able to stand/sit for full 8 hour shift
Compensation:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience. - $70,000-$80,000 a Year
