Summary :
The QTI Group has partnered with a plastic fabrication company that is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is responsible for managing purchasing functions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting and be proficient with ERP systems, with Sage 100 experience preferred. This position will also serve as a backup for answering phones and greeting visitors.
This full-time role offers a flexible start time between 7 : 00 AM - 8 : 00 AM, Monday through Friday. The standard schedule includes four 9-hour days and a 4-hour Friday.
The pay starts at $27 / hr., based on experience.
Responsibilities :
- Manage purchasing activities, including order placement, supplier management, and cost analysis.
- Monitor and replenish raw materials and finished goods as needed.
- Utilize ERP software to track orders, maintain vendor relationships, and oversee inventory levels.
- Assist with implementing the Sage Operations Management module and improving inventory systems.
- Conduct cycle counts and process replenishment orders.
- Receive and log incoming products in Sage and coordinate material movement between storage and production.
- Develop and maintain professional inventory systems, including reorder points and Kanban ordering.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and negotiate pricing with vendors.
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones (minimal calls) and greeting visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
